Spring Farm

Spring Farm is a 30 acre property on the borders of Rutland and Leicestershire developed over 40 years by Di’s husband Dietmar Ackermann into an attractive and practical equestrian competition and training establishment.

Accommodation block

Initially Dietmar concentrated on training and producing event horses with considerable success, also producing young top level showjumpers, which were sold all over Europe and North America.

Di transferred her string of horses to Spring Farm in 1989 and the foundations of their successful partnership were created.   At the time Di’s top horses were Trinity Bristo, Master Bob and Seville.

The arrival of Robert & Dina Verburgt’s Abbervail Dream opened a chapter of success at the very highest level and ensured Di’s inclusion in World and European Championship teams, though the Olympic dream eluded them.  Travelling all over Europe, and far afield to Canada and Australia, Di jumped for Team GB, Abbervail Dream backed up by Equity, Audacity, Leo Z, Flaminka & Tri Star II, Valentino R, Eperlan du Fouquet, William’s Spirit and Master Cruise.

Di ’s appointment as Consultant Head of Training for the BSJA (now British Showjumping) changed the emphasis for Spring Farm from predominantly competition oriented to training – looking to the future, training the horses and the riders to compete for Team GB.
